Check in and Checkout Times

Check in is at 3:00 p.m., check out is at 11:00a.m. Please make prior arrangements for early arrival or late departure.

Reservations, Deposits

We collect a 50% deposit at the time of booking. The remainder is billed to the card on file the morning of arrival. A confirmation email will be sent upon booking.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

The River Trail Cottages is an exclusive property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us. If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 15 (fifteen) days prior to your arrival date to cancel your reservation less a $35 processing fee per room.

In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than fifteen (15) days notice, shorten your stay or check out early, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation. If we can rebook your room(s), a full or partial refund will be made.

Rates/policies are subject to change and vary during high impact periods and special requests.  Please see Terms, Policies and Rules for more details.  A 30 day cancellation notice is required on whole house bookings and for some holidays and special events.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. Well-behaved pets are allowed. No more than 2 pets allowed. A $35 non-refundable per pet fee is required and collected at booking.  

Our Pet Policy:

1. Keep pets on a leash while on property.

2. Please pick up after them.

3. Don’t allow them on the furniture or comforters.

4. Please don’t leave them alone in the cottage for more than 3 hours.

May we smoke in the rooms?

No. All of our cottages and indoor venues are non-smoking.  Smoking is strictly prohibited inside any cottage or indoor facilities.  A fine of $250 will be imposed on anyone for violation.  Only designated outdoor areas can be used for smoking.

Can I swim in the river?

Yes. RTC has 750 feet of access to the Guadalupe River. Please enjoy the river responsibly as no lifeguard is on duty.

What should I bring, what is provided?

Your room will have sheets, pillows, blankets, towels, toiletries, coffee pods, creamer, satellite television and complimentary WiFi. You should bring personal items, beach towels, bug spray, sunscreen, food and drink AND a sense of adventure!

Can I use the riverside fire pits?

Yes, please. We will provide the firewood. If you need assistance, we are here to help.

Do the rooms have a telephone?

No, we have found most guests have mobile phones.

Do you serve breakfast?

A K-cup coffee maker is provided in the room with creamer and sweetener. We do not serve breakfast, but we can recommend several great breakfast places in Kerrville, some even within walking distance.

Is there a swimming pool?

We do not have a swimming pool, we have the Guadalupe River! Always supervise children while on the property and swim at your own risk.

Do you have stairs?

Yes, as a matter of fact we have quite a few stairs. Most rooms and cottages have steps up to the door, the train depot has several stairs and much of the property is uneven ground. Our property is historic and many of the rooms were part of a motor court from 1928.

How do I get the key to my room?

All of our cottages use keypad entries. Before your arrival, you will receive a check-in instructions email with the specific keypad access code for your cottage. A spare is usually available inside the cottage for you to use if you prefer to use a key instead during your stay.

Requests for adjoining rooms

We offer limited options for adjoining cottages.  They are available for cottages 6 & 7 and also the River View cottages which come in a duplex configuration.  Requests for adjoining cottages must be made in advance, are subject to availability, and cannot be guaranteed. To request for one, please inquire at the time of your reservation. We will do our best to accommodate these requests, but cannot guarantee them.

Do you offer daily maid service?

We do not offer a daily made service. We provide extra towels in every cottage. If you find you need anything, please reach out! We are happy to bring extra towels, linens, pillows, or toiletries.

Do the rooms have kitchens?

No. Our rooms all come equipped with a small microwave, refrigerator and K-cup single cup coffee maker. Cottage 8 is our only full sized cottage with a kitchen.
